Graduated from the Department of Food Engineering at Hacettepe University in 1986, she has held positions throughout her career as a production and quality control engineer in the private sector, as well as in production and control engineering roles at the Turkish Dairy Industry Corporation and the Meat and Fish Corporation. She served as Division Director of Food Codex Department—where food regulations were developed—and as Division Director of the Food Foreign Trade Department at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, as it was known at the time. During this time, she represented the Ministry at numerous international meetings on the development of regulations, advocating for the country’s position. After serving in the Directorate General for Foreign Relations and the European Union at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, she retired from the Ministry in 2008.
Between 2012 and 2019, she taught the course “Food Control and Legal Regulations” as a part-time lecturer in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Near East University in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
She currently serves as the Coordinator of the Food Safety Congress, provides food regulation training for the sector, and offers consulting services.
She has held various roles in numerous EU projects.
She is a founding member of the Chamber of Food Engineers under The Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (UCTEA). She served as Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors for four terms and is currently a member of the Chamber’s Honorary Board. She is one of the founding members of the Agricultural and Food Ethics Association of Türkiye (TARGET) and serves on its board of directors. She serves on the advisory boards of the Food Safety Association and the food engineering departments of several universities.
She has authored chapters in various books at the national and international levels.
